5.2 km - Start at rue des Eneilles Markings: Green diamond Comments: no difficulty - very muddy - exceptional flora Starting point: Monteuville, at the car park at the bottom of rue des Eneilles. MONTEUVILLE: La Pierre et l'Eau offer very pretty views in Monteuville. The area is listed of ornithological interest with the presence of different species such as kingfisher, the wagtail or the swallow. Go up rue des Eneilles to the N929. Turn right towards Deulin. 50 m further on, turn left onto the Chemin de Halage which descends towards the Ourthe. Pretty country road between grazed meadows and hay meadows which offers you a beautiful view towards the village of Deulin. Follow the river on a stony path and continue straight on (overlook a footbridge on the right which allows you to reach the village). The river is bordered by alders and willows. The alder and the willow have tenacious roots which fix the soil of the banks and thus help to limit erosion. Unfortunately, in many places the willows and alders have been torn up and replaced by rocks or concrete. The path departs from the river. On the left, the vegetation is that of a wet meadow: lilies, rushes, sedges, etc. Join a "T" shaped asphalt road and go right. Note on the right a pot from 1830. The right side of the road is covered with broom and rose hips. At the crossroads of 4 paths (large stones) continue straight. After 250 m, turn left onto a wide fire-resistant path (muddy passage) which runs along an old power line. On this path, in spring, many lychnis (cuckoo flower). On leaving the wood, take a "Y" junction, follow the right branch and progress along a field bordered by a hedge of thorns. Muddy passage in the woods. Many buttercups (also called small moats, similar to small buttercups). The path widens and becomes a path. At the exit of the wood, turn left on a path through meadows. (notice a beautiful avenue of poplars on the right). At the crossroads, go left between meadows and crops. Then "Y" on the right: stony path that goes down to Monteuville. Beautiful panoramic view towards Grandhan and the Eneilles. Take the road (Rue de Rahet then Rue des Eneilles) to the starting point.
